One of the key values in discipleship is hearing and obeying the Word. Therefore, it is important to have accountability to one another for our step of obedience from studying the Word. Spend the first part of your discussion asking – how did your step of obedience go from last time we met?

• What do these passages tell us about you and your life?
• What did you like about this passage?
• What did you not like about this passage?

Jesus shared that there can only be one Master; it is either God or money. There is no in between. He gave us 3 checks that will help reveal who is our master:

1. Check your treasure (Matthew 6:19 – 21)
2. Check your eye (Matthew 6:22 – 24)
3. Check your thoughts (Matthew 6:24 – 34)

Discuss the following questions:

• Do a personal check for those three areas in your life. What does it reveal about who your Master is? How do you feel about that?
