We want to see our community changed and come to Jesus. To do this we need to look to God first, to see who He is and how great He is. We want to learn to see people through His eyes and to know what He sees. He understood the culture, the community, the Father’s heart, the environment and the people. That is why He was able to make such a great impact. We want to do the same.

Read 1John 4:7-21

• What do these passages tell us about God?
• What do these passages tell us about you and your life?

In order for us to love like God loves we need to have a heart that is in line with God’s heart. As we read through the Scriptures we see that God has a heart for people and so we need to have the same love for people. That requires us to know the communities we live in, the culture we live in, and the context we live in. Our communities must experience the character of Christ through us.

Discuss one or more of the following questions. 

1. Share a time when you struggled with the idea that God loved you unconditionally.  Do you still struggle with the idea?  If not, what helped you come to terms with God’s love for you?
2.  ‘People see us, and through us see Jesus.  This might be the only encounter they will have.’  How does this statement from Nataliya’s message challenge you?
3. How has your participation in the Love Loud campaign impacted you personally?
4. Share some stories from the community of how they were touched by the Love Loud campaign.
5. Nataliya reminded us that sometimes we are so caught up with doing things for God (ministry) that we forget that it is all about loving God and loving one another.  In what way do you relate to this statement?
