Core Doctrines

About the Scriptures

We believe the entire Bible (both Old and New Testaments) is the written Word of God, inspired by the Holy Spirit and without error. It is the revelation of God’s truth, infallible and the ultimate authority in all matters of faith and conduct.

About God

We believe in one God, who exists eternally in three distinct Persons: the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit.

About Jesus

We believe Jesus Christ is the second Person of the Holy Trinity (the Son of God) who became flesh to reveal God to humanity and to become the Saviour of the lost world

About Humanity

We believe every person has rebelled against God (we call this “sin”) and so is separated from God and incapable of regaining a right relationship with God through his or her own efforts

About Salvation

We believe Jesus Christ is the eternal Son of God, who through His perfect life and sacrificial death atoned for the sins of all who will repent and trust in Him, alone, for salvation. Jesus Christ rose from the dead and ascended into heaven, where He is the only mediator between God and humanity.

About the Holy Spirit

We believe in the Holy Spirit who is equal to the Father and the Son. He is present in the world to make people aware of their need for Jesus. He also lives in every believer from the moment of salvation. He gives believers strength and wisdom to trust Christ, follow Him and become like Him.

About the Return of Jesus

We believe Jesus will return, bodily and visibly, to judge all mankind and to receive His people to Himself.

About Ordinances

We believe in the faithful proclamation of, and obedience to the two ordinances of the Lord Jesus Christ, namely:

a)  Baptism by which believers express their faith in Jesus. They do this by being immersed in water as an act of union with Jesus’ death, burial and resurrection.

b)  The Lord’s Supper (also known as Holy Communion) is celebrated weekly to remind us of Jesus dying for us and that He is coming again.
