Clayton Church COVID-19 Updates
Friday 20/03/2020
Dear Church,
We hope this message finds you safe and healthy. With the rapid pace at which things are developing in regards to COVID-19, the well-being of our wider community is at the forefront of our minds.
The most recent update from Prime Minister Scott Morrison is that in addition to the banning of non-essential indoor gatherings of 100 people or more, there will also be a limit of four-square metres provided per person in any enclosed space. For example, if your room is 100 square metres in size, then a maximum of 25 people will be allowed in that room. This will have implications on how we gather, even as groups in small spaces and living rooms.
Given the trajectory of how COVID-19 will continue to impact us as a society, we ask for your cooperation in helping us shift church online for the sake of our health professionals, and the vulnerable in our midst.

After this Sunday (22 March 2020), we will not be opening the church building for visitors or individuals who are not yet part of groups. Please join a virtual life group by registering online.
Groups
(updated recommendations)
Life groups, if you were planning to meet in person this Sunday, we strongly recommend you to meet virtually for discussions and stay connected through online chat.
Video Conferencing Instructions, Discussion Questions, FAQs
If you are not yet part of a group, you can join a virtual group meeting by registering online. Someone will be in touch to connect you with a group.
Kids Resources
Though nothing can replace meeting together in person, we want to still be able to communicate God’s truth to the children in alternate, creative ways. We are here to provide an online option for you and your family to help with your discipleship journey at home. Here, you will find resources that you can use any time throughout the week to disciples your little ones.
Parents, we can’t do this without you! We believe that consistency is key to children’s ministry and we are here to bring ‘Kids Church’ to your home so we can all stay consistent, even if COVID-19 is preventing us from meeting in our church building. Please choose the material that you think best suited for your child’s age.
COVID-19 Guidelines
Church, we want to do our part in ‘flattening the curve’ for the sake of our health workers and the vulnerable in our wider community. Please:
- Practise social distancing and avoid any unnecessary face-to-face meetings.
- Practise good hygiene by washing your hands with soap for 20 seconds or use alcohol-based hand sanitiser frequently and cough or sneeze into a disposable tissue or your elbow.
- Regularly disinfect hard surfaces such as door knobs, handles and table tops.
- If you are experiencing flu-like symptoms or have been in close contact with any suspected or confirmed case of COVID-19, please stay at home and consult your GP.
